Sri Lanka Travel Japan (the “Website”) is the official website operated by LANKA TRAVEL JAPAN (PVT) LTD (the “Company”), a company incorporated in Sri Lanka.
The Company provides private vehicle, transfer and related services in Sri Lanka. The Website serves as the Company’s online channel for providing information, receiving inquiries and accepting booking requests for the services offered by the Company.
By using the Website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Article 1 – Service Description

  1. Customers may use the Website to inquire about and request bookings for private vehicle, transfer and other services offered by the Company in Sri Lanka.
  2. Responses to inquiries, itinerary discussions, quotations, availability confirmation and booking confirmation will be handled by the Company or by a representative designated by the Company.
  3. After a booking has been confirmed, customers will be provided with the contact details of the Company’s representative or assigned driver. Further communication regarding pickup times, itinerary details and other operational matters may be conducted directly with the Company or its designated representative.

Article 2 – Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Any service booked through the Website is contracted between the customer and LANKA TRAVEL JAPAN (PVT) LTD.
  2. The Company may provide its services through its own drivers or through drivers and other local service providers arranged by the Company.
  3. Even where a driver or other representative is responsible for transportation, local assistance or schedule coordination, the contracting party for the services under these Terms and Conditions remains the Company.
  4. If any issue arises in connection with the services, customers should contact the Company. The Company will review the circumstances and respond in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
  5. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for losses arising from natural disasters, war, civil unrest, suspension of transportation or other third-party services, government orders or other circumstances beyond the Company’s reasonable control.
  6. Where the Company is legally liable, such liability shall, to the extent permitted by applicable law, be limited to direct and ordinary damages actually incurred in connection with the services.

Article 3 – Reservations

  1. After an inquiry or booking request is submitted through the Website, the Company or its designated representative will provide the customer with relevant information, including itinerary details, a quotation and booking instructions.
  2. A booking becomes confirmed between the customer and the Company once the customer accepts the quoted terms and the required deposit has been successfully paid.

Article 4 – Payment

  1. Tour fees consist of a deposit payment and the remaining balance.
    (1) Deposit Payment: Approximately 15–20% of the total tour fee must be paid in Sri Lankan Rupees by credit card at the time of booking.
    (2) Remaining Balance: After arrival in Sri Lanka, the remaining balance must generally be paid on the first day of the tour by depositing Sri Lankan Rupees cash into the designated bank account via ATM or bank counter. The driver will assist with the transfer process if necessary.
  2. All deposits and other tour payments are received by LANKA TRAVEL JAPAN (PVT) LTD or through a payment processor or bank account designated by the Company.
  3. The name of the Company’s payment service provider, such as “PayHere,” may appear on the customer’s card statement.
  4. The booking is officially confirmed once the required deposit has been successfully paid.
  5. Tour prices are primarily denominated in Sri Lankan Rupees. Any prices shown in Japanese Yen (or US prices) are for reference purposes only. In the event of exchange-rate fluctuations, the Sri Lankan Rupee amount quoted by the Company shall take precedence.
  6. Please be sure to remit the remaining balance in cash in Sri Lankan Rupees. Failure to make payment may result in the suspension of services on-site.

Article 5 – Cancellation Policy

  1. Deposits are non-refundable after the reservation has been confirmed, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
  2. Deposits are also non-refundable in cases such as flight cancellations or natural disasters that prevent participation in the tour.
    However, in unavoidable circumstances such as these, the deposit may be retained as credit for a future booking through our service. Conditions for credit transfers will be adjusted depending on individual circumstances.
    For cancellations due to customer convenience, deposits are forfeited and cannot be refunded or transferred.
  3. If the tour is canceled after it has started due to customer reasons, no refund of the remaining balance will be provided.
  4. If service cannot be provided due to driver-related circumstances, full or partial refunds may be issued.
  5. If you wish to cancel your booking, please contact us as early as possible.

Article 6 – Tour-Related Services

  1. After submitting the inquiry form, communication will generally be conducted via email. After the deposit payment is completed, communication regarding the tour will generally be conducted via WhatsApp until the tour ends. These communication services are provided free of charge. Please note that the driver communicates only in English.
  2. The Website may also contain information regarding transportation methods other than taxis, sightseeing, accommodation and other related services. Although the Company takes reasonable steps to collect and maintain such information, the Company does not guarantee its accuracy, completeness or current availability.
  3. All copyrights and intellectual property rights related to information provided through this service belong to the Company or the respective lawful rights holder.

Article 7 – Changes Before Tour Start

  1. If service prices change after booking confirmation, differences will generally not be charged or refunded.
  2. If customers request itinerary changes after booking confirmation, adjustments may be made with additional charges or partial refunds.
    If the revised tour price becomes higher, additional payment will be required via credit card. If the revised price becomes lower, the difference will be refunded in Sri Lankan Rupees cash on the tour date.
  3. Additional charges may apply if the number of participants changes after booking confirmation.
  4. In unavoidable circumstances such as natural disasters, wars, riots, suspension of transportation or accommodation services, government orders or restrictions issued by authorities in the traveler’s country or Sri Lanka, or other circumstances beyond the Company's reasonable control, the Company may change schedules or related services to ensure safe and smooth travel. The Company will provide confirmed information as soon as reasonably possible. In emergency situations, information may be provided after changes have been made.

Article 8 – Cancellation Before Tour Start

  1. Cancellation fees shall follow the cancellation policy stated in Article 5.
  2. In unavoidable circumstances such as natural disasters, wars, riots, suspension of transportation or accommodation services, government orders or restrictions issued by authorities in the traveler’s country or Sri Lanka, or other circumstances beyond the Company's reasonable control, the Company may cancel part or all of the services in order to ensure safety and smooth travel operations. The Company will provide confirmed information as soon as reasonably possible. In emergency situations, information may be provided after changes have been made.

Article 9 – Changes and Cancellation After Tour Start

  1. Cancellations are not accepted after the tour has started.
  2. If services become unavailable due to natural disasters, wars, riots, suspension of transportation or accommodation services, government orders or restrictions issued by authorities in the traveler’s country or Sri Lanka, or other circumstances beyond our control, refunds for the unavailable portion may be issued locally in Sri Lankan Rupees. However, when the circumstances are beyond the Company's responsibility, cancellation fees, penalties, and already-incurred or future unavoidable costs may be deducted from the refundable amount.

Article 10 – Prohibited Activities

Users must not engage in the following:

  • Providing false information
  • Impersonating another person
  • Using the service for commercial resale purposes
  • Harassment, abusive conduct or nuisance toward the Company, its representatives or drivers
  • Violations of laws or public order and morals

Article 11 – Intellectual Property Rights

All images, text, logos, designs and other content published on the Website are owned by the Company or their respective lawful rights holders. Unauthorized reproduction or copying is prohibited.

Article 12 – Personal Information

The Company handles and manages personal information collected through the Website in accordance with the Company's Privacy Policy.

Article 13 – Changes to the Terms

The Company may amend these Terms and Conditions as necessary. Revised Terms and Conditions shall become effective when published on the Website.

Article 14 – Service Changes or Suspension

The Company may change, suspend or terminate services without prior notice. The Company shall not be liable not be liable for disadvantages or damages caused by service changes or interruptions.

Article 15 – Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
  2. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of Colombo as the court of first instance.
